First-Year Membership: The initial membership fee for Student, Regular, and Institutional Members includes the annual membership dues for the first year. Annual dues become payable beginning with the succeeding membership year.

*Life membership is a one-time payment. Membership is subject to the Society’s approval and may be renewed according to PhilSAR guidelines.

Membership Category Descriptions

PhilSAR offers four membership categories for both Filipino and international members.

Student Member

Open to individuals currently enrolled in a recognized undergraduate, graduate, veterinary, agriculture, animal science, biology, biotechnology, or other academic program related to animal reproduction, livestock production, veterinary medicine, or allied disciplines.

Applicants may be required to submit proof of current enrollment or student status.

Regular Member

Open to professionals, researchers, academicians, veterinarians, animal scientists, agriculturists, livestock practitioners, reproductive biotechnology specialists, extension workers, industry professionals, and other qualified individuals whose professional work or interests are aligned with the objectives of PhilSAR.

Life Member

Open to qualified individuals who support the purposes and objectives of PhilSAR and who pay the prescribed one-time Life Membership Fee.

Life Members enjoy membership in PhilSAR for life, subject to compliance with the Society's Constitution and By-Laws, policies, ethical standards, and applicable rules.

Life Members are not required to pay annual membership dues.

Institutional Member

Open to qualified organizations and institutions whose activities or interests are related to animal reproduction, livestock production, veterinary medicine, agriculture, research, education, biotechnology, extension, or allied fields.

Institutional Members may include universities and colleges, government agencies, research institutions, professional and scientific organizations, private companies, livestock enterprises, veterinary and animal health organizations, farms, cooperatives, producer organizations, and non-government organizations.

Each Institutional Member shall designate an authorized representative who will serve as its official contact with PhilSAR.

Membership Privileges

Members in good standing may enjoy the following privileges, subject to the PhilSAR Constitution and By-Laws and other applicable policies:

  • Inclusion in the official PhilSAR Membership List

  • Participation in PhilSAR scientific meetings, conventions, symposia, seminars, webinars, workshops, and training programs

  • Preferential or discounted registration rates for selected PhilSAR conferences, conventions, workshops, and activities

  • Receipt of official PhilSAR announcements, newsletters, scientific information, and organizational updates

  • Professional networking and collaboration with members from the Philippines and other countries

  • Access to selected educational, scientific, and professional resources

  • Opportunities to participate in committees, technical working groups, scientific activities, and Society initiatives, subject to eligibility requirements

  • Opportunities for professional development, scientific collaboration, mentoring, and capacity building

  • Opportunities to submit scientific papers, abstracts, posters, and other scholarly contributions to PhilSAR scientific activities, subject to applicable submission and review requirements

  • Eligibility for PhilSAR awards, recognitions, grants, scholarships, or other opportunities when applicable

  • Official membership certificate, identification, or other proof of membership as may be provided by the Society

Voting and Governance Rights

Voting rights, eligibility to hold elective or appointive office, participation in the General Assembly, and other governance privileges are governed by the PhilSAR Constitution and By-Laws.

Membership in PhilSAR does not automatically grant voting or governance rights beyond those provided under the Constitution and By-Laws.

Membership in Good Standing

A PhilSAR member is considered in good standing when the member:

  1. Has an approved membership application;

  2. Has paid all applicable membership fees and annual dues;

  3. Complies with the PhilSAR Constitution and By-Laws, policies, rules, and ethical standards; and

  4. Has no outstanding disciplinary sanction that suspends membership privileges.

Only members in good standing may exercise the privileges associated with their respective membership category, subject to the Constitution and By-Laws.

Annual Membership Renewal

Annual membership dues for Student, Regular, and Institutional Members become payable beginning with the membership year following initial registration.

PhilSAR will announce the applicable payment schedule and approved modes of payment through its official communication channels.

Members are encouraged to settle their annual dues promptly to ensure uninterrupted membership privileges.

Members who fail to pay the required annual dues within the prescribed period may be classified as inactive or not in good standing, and membership privileges may be temporarily suspended until applicable renewal or reinstatement requirements have been satisfied.

Life Members are exempt from annual membership dues.

Changing Your Membership Category

Members may apply to change their membership category when they become eligible for another category.

A Student Member who completes or terminates academic enrollment may apply for conversion to Regular Membership.

A Regular Member may apply for Life Membership upon payment of the prescribed Life Membership Fee and compliance with applicable requirements.

International Membership

PhilSAR welcomes international members as part of its commitment to scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange in animal reproduction and related disciplines.

For membership purposes, International Members include individuals who are not Filipino citizens and institutions based outside the Philippines.

International members enjoy privileges appropriate to their respective membership category, subject to the PhilSAR Constitution and By-Laws and applicable policies.

Individual membership is open to anyone interested in animal reproduction and related fields, including but not limited to:

  • Scientists and Researchers

  • Veterinarians

  • Animal Scientists

  • Livestock Specialists

  • University Faculty and Instructors

  • Students

  • Government Employees

  • Extension Workers

  • Artificial Insemination Technicians

  • Embryo Transfer Practitioners

  • Livestock Producers and Farm Managers

  • Representatives from Industry, NGOs, and the Private Sector

  • Individuals who support the objectives and mission of PhilSAR

How to Apply

Joining PhilSAR is simple.

1. Choose Your Membership Category

Select the membership category for which you are eligible:

Student • Regular • Life • Institutional

2. Complete the Membership Application

Complete the official PhilSAR Membership Application Form and provide the required information and supporting documents.

Student applicants may be requested to provide proof of current enrollment or student status.

3. Pay the Applicable Membership Fee

Pay the prescribed membership fee using one of the officially approved PhilSAR payment channels.

The initial membership fee for Student, Regular, and Institutional Members includes membership dues for the first year.

4. Submit Required Documents and Proof of Payment

Upload or submit the required supporting documents and proof of payment through the official membership application form.

5. Membership Review and Approval

Membership becomes effective only after:

  • Submission of a complete application;

  • Verification of eligibility, when required;

  • Approval by the authorized PhilSAR body or officer; and

  • Payment of the prescribed membership fee.

PhilSAR may request additional documentation when necessary to verify eligibility for a particular membership category.

Membership Policy

Membership is governed by the PhilSAR Membership Categories, Fees, Privileges, and Annual Dues Policy (PhilSAR-MEM-001) and the Society's Constitution and By-Laws.

Membership fees and annual dues may be reviewed and adjusted by the PhilSAR Board of Directors in accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws. Approved changes will be properly communicated to members before implementation.
